University -- Students that are for course courses as on the 15th day of the term, no matter if the class starts before or after the 15th day. For flexibly scheduled courses and summer courses, we use the 30 days after the end of the term.
Ohio Board of Regents -- Students are registered for the 15th day of the term. For flexibly scheduled courses and summer courses, we use th 20% of the class is complete.
IPEDS -- Enrollment is only done in the fall and the rule is all students that are registered for a course on the 15th day of the term.
Full-Time Equivalency(FTE)
Semester -- FTE is calculated by taking the total course credits / 15.
Academic Year -- FTE is calculated by taking the total course credits / 30.

Full and Part-Time Students
Retention Rate
A measure of the rate at which students persist in their educational program at an institution, expressed as a percentage.
For four-year institutions , this is the percentage of first-time bachelors (or equivalent)
degree-seeking undergraduates from the previous fall who are again enrolled in the current fall.
For all other institutions this is the percentage of first-time degree/certificate-seeking students from the previous fall who either re-enrolled or successfully
completed their program by the current fall.
